Working remotely, at least part of the time, is something desired by many and perhaps most employed in customer service jobs. It is hard to envision some customer service jobs ever being done remotely, such as a return counter at a Target or Walmart, while it is very easy to envision others, such as those working for call centers.

But there are many, many customer service jobs that are in between those kinds of extremes. Jobs that might not be terribly popular so not the kind that immediately comes to mind, or jobs that we’re used to seeing done on-site but perhaps don’t need to be. For anyone who wants to work in education and prefers to do so remotely, there are so many possibilities. Jobs that no one ever dreamed would be remote are being done outside of the traditional work environment. 

Take my line of work, for instance. If you have a real estate license and also a love of education, you can teach all kinds of real estate licensing courses. Most realtors get licensed today without ever stepping foot in a physical classroom.

If you have an undergraduate degree combined with a lot of practical experience in a given field, you might be able to share that experience in an adjunct faculty job. Many of these positions today are done completely remotely. 

If you just know a lot about a topic and have been working in an associated industry long enough to bank a wealth of knowledge, platforms like Coursera are a good way to share your knowledge and get paid for it—all completely remotely.
