What does professionalism in the workplace really mean?

In this workshop hosted by OCS Graduate Career Coach Alaina Kendrick, students learn how to collaborate effectively on diverse, intergenerational teams by recognizing how differing values, perspectives, and working styles shape team dynamics and performance. As workplace expectations continue to evolve, students will strengthen their understanding of organizational norms, communication, professionalism, and career readiness skills needed to confidently transition into a professional environment.

Want People to Accept Your LinkedIn Requests? Use These 10 Templates

Personalizing LinkedIn connection invitations significantly increases the likelihood that someone will accept your request because it demonstrates genuine interest, professionalism, and relevance. Research shows that personalized invitations have an average acceptance rate of about 45%, compared to roughly 15% for generic requests. By referencing a shared connection, recent post, or common interest, personalization helps establish trust from the first interaction.

COACHING TIPS OF THE WEEK

Spring break is around the corner! Use this time to reflect on your goals, refine your job search strategy, update your resume and LinkedIn, and strengthen your skills through Forage simulations or DataCamp projects.

If you’re using AI to help you create your resume or cover letter, be sure to go back in and edit so it sounds like you and is reflective of the skill sets you can bring to the role you’re applying to.
