National Business & Disability Council (NBDC)
The National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) at The Viscardi Center connects businesses with qualified employees who have disabilities. The organization focuses on inclusivity, community and improving organizational efficiency. NBDC provides services and resources to both employers and employees. Some of the services offered to employers include accommodations information, ADA guidance and more. In addition, NBDC allows provides training resources for employers and allows them to review applications locally or nationally.
Employees can utilize several services offered by NBDC, such as the Emerging Leaders Internship Program. This program is open to students (graduate and undergraduate) who have disabilities and can include opportunities with companies like Bank of America, Verizon, John Deere, and Canon. NBDC also provides mentoring and resume assistance, virtual job training and skills reviews. Individuals can access more than 200 online professional development courses as well as connect with other professionals who can provide advice and professional guidance.
